Toronto Comic Arts Festival
Program Guide
Print Design
This project involved designing a program guide, banners, lanyards, badges, and a poster for the Toronto Arts Festival.
The program guide was the central focus of the project, as it involved many moving parts : artist bios, event schedules, maps, and advertisements. With so many working components, final details such as vendor maps, artist bios, and schedules were expected to come in toward the end of the process, once all vendors, speakers, and event times were finalized.
To prepare for this, I focused on establishing a solid foundation early in the design phase by developing a style guide that outlined typography hierarchy, design components, and layout mockups.
A key to the success of this project was close collaboration with the communication manager to ensure all elements aligned with the desired outcome. This was especially critical as we had to manage information for over 100 artists, their schedules, and event locations, making sure all written bios, artist photos, and map components met the necessary requirements and specifications.
The result was a cohesive and visually engaging guide that effectively communicated all aspects of the festival, ensuring a seamless flow throughout the process.
